Default LED monitors

anyone using an LED monitor?.... is there any advantage/dsadvantage to these.. i really have no idea. but i am looking for a 22-24" widescreen something as my current 17" is pretty poor.

my videocard has HDMI/DVI ports so i'm sure i can get HD monitor now, right?

.....are you using an HD LCD monitor? and are there any real advantages for the image editing aspect of things?

Some LED-backed LCD monitors have a wider color gamut than sRGB, making them nice for photo editing if you use color management.

However, it can really vary. My laptop has LED backlighting, and it's got such steep contrast that it's hard to use for photo editing.

You can certainly get a "HD" monitor. Remember that "HD" isn't, in reality, really high resolution for a computer monitor. (See xkcd: HDTV !)
