Default Fashion Photography Lens - Question

I am a Amature fashion Photogrpaher. I am planning to buy my first DSLR camera and Lens from my limited budget.

I have selected this lens:

1) Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens

I will use this lens for
a) portrait photography,
b) indoor fashion shoots / Studio shoots
c) outdoor fashion shoots,
d) shooting on fashion shows
e )Wedding shoots

I will mount it on Canon 500D

Kindly tell me that is this lens provide quality images on all the 5 places mentioned above?

It is a well written up lens, but a 1.6 crop factor gives you an equivalent of 112mm to 320mm lens and you might find it a bit long for alot of those uses

Fashion photography is more lighting than it is lenses.

Well, everything is finalized now except one lens. Please suggest me a lens with good zoom capabilities to shoot at

1) Weddings
2) Outdoor Fashion shoots
3) Fashion shows

I need best image quality and my budget for this lens is maixmum US$500

You could mount an 85 1.8 and that could suffice for your specific shooting needs. Albeit, not a zoom lens.
