Default News Lenses But Got The Wrong One

I'll start by saying I did a trade with a site for store credit and wound up ordering a Canon EF-S 17-55mm F/2.8 IS USM and a Canon EF 70-200mm F/4L IS USM. They just came in the other day and I'm finally getting to mess with them. I just realized instead of the 17-55mm lens they sent me the EF 24-70mm F/2.8L USM. I'm assuming that's just what they had on hand comparable to what I was ordering. I think I'm just going to keep it. I'm not in the position to spend this much on lenses which is why I jumped at the chance to pickup some really nice lenses. I really wanted just a good walkaround lens and a nice zoom. Anyone have an opinion on whether I should keep it or send it back? I know it doesn't have IS but I don't think that's a big show stopper. Seems like I got the better end of the deal with a nicer L lens.

Sounds like you got a very good deal. The L lens is a much better lens and costs about $350 more than the other one.(Not to mention the resale value is much higher with the L glass)

Congrats. Those two lenses are my "95% of the time" lenses. The 24-70 is a fantastic lens but on a crop sensor I do wish it were wider. Eventually you might pick up a 17-40 F4L for landscapes or maybe even a 10-22 if you really want to go wide. You will love these two lenses!

Thanks, forcing myself out of the house today to take some pictures with them today.
