Hello,
I have just gotten a Canon Rebel T2i, with the 18-55mm IS kit lens. I like the 18mm range but I am looking for a little more zoom. I have looked at the 18-200mm lens, but I have heard that it wouldn't be as sharp due to the large size. I am now currently deciding between the EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens and the EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens. I would say that I am an experienced photographer and I have a good knowledge of lens technology, I just don't know much about the sizes and zooms. Thanks a lot for the help and I will take any suggestions! |

You sure that you don't just need to add an EF-S 55-250 IS, vs. replacing your walkaround? (I mean, I get the extended zoom range thing. I shoot with the 24-105L, after all
). But if 55mm is a decent breakover spot for you, that may be the cheapest way to go.The EF-S 18-135 is basically the crop-body replacement for the EF 28-135, which was designed for film. The 28-135 has USM; the 18-135 doesn't, but the 18-135 is optically better and is designed for crop, and might be a better choice than a superzoom. The EF-S 15-85 IS USM is basically replacing the older EF-S 17-85 IS USM, which may also be worth looking at.
