Default Sigma 10-20mm

Hi folks.

Well my lovely wife has hinted that she will buy me a new lens for Christmas.

Im looking at the Sigma 10-20mm.

On Amazon.co.uk there are 2 of these lenses for Nikon one is the f/3.5 Sigma 10-20mm f3.5 EX DC HSM Lens for Nikon Digital SLR: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

the other is the f/4-5.6 Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 EX DC HSM Nikon fit lens: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

I understand that the first is a faster lens allowing to shoot in lower light conditions, but is there any other difference to satisfy the extra £90.

This lens will be used for Landscapes and as a walkabout lens.

Your advice and any experience in these lenses would be greatly appreciated.

RD

PS she is also going to buy me a Nikon SB-600 Speedlight: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

I would go with the older cheaper one - I have that lens. The older one is actually a little sharper and you really don't need a fast lens for most landscape shots. If you said you mainly wanted to use it indoors it might be different, but the cheaper one is a great lens. Check out this set which was mostly taken with the 10-20mm lens (check the exif data as a few were with my Nikon 18-200 and Nikon 10.5mm fisheye):
