Nikon lists the AF lenses as compatible with the D3000 in all respects except autofocus... however - looking at the photo of the AF 50mm f/1.8 I am considering, it appears to have aperture markings, as though there is an aperture ring on the lens (though I'm not certain if there is or not). Does that mean that I would need to manually select aperture on the lens, or can the camera still control aperture based on your selection using the control wheel on the camera body?
Cheers, G

The camera still has exposure metering capabilities and can control the aperture on AF lenses.

Many thanks. I stood in my local photography store for 20 minutes yesterday - camera in hand, standing right next to one in the display case. But do you think I could get a salesperson to come and open the cabinet for me to actually try it? Normally, they are all over you as soon as you walk in the door!!
