I enjoy shooting Live bands .. I use a Rebel Xs and a 50mm f/1.8 .. I have the opportunity to purchase a Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM at a good price ..
i love the 50, but I have a hard time getting good "full body" shots on stage .. How will the 28 compare to the 50?? thanks KJ

PS. I'm not sure what "~" means (and it took me ages to find it on the keyboard ), does it mean approximately?

umm ok .. now I'm thoroughly confused .. maybe I'm just missing something
I have a 50mm f/1.8 lens .. and when its at f/1.8 I can take photographs in fairly low light but I have to be lets say 15 feet away from someone to get a "full body" shot .. with the 28 at f/1.8 couldn't I get basically the same shot at around 8 feet away??

My apologies.
I was reading 28mm as 2.8 (the word exposure did it!) The ~ (tilde) symbol does mean approximately. Kellyj69 - you are correct.

Wow, 2 hours 16 minutes between asking advise and purchase. That's pretty fast going.
As Richard says, Congrats and don't forget to post some results you get. @Richard: thanks for clearing that up about the caret symbol.
