Default What is the next thing I need

Right now I own
Nikon D50
Nikon Speedlight 600 TTL flash
18-55 Nikor lens (1:35.-5.6)
28-80 Quantray Lens (1:35.-5.6)
55-200 Nikon Lens (F4-5.6) with VR
and several Tripods
I shoot weddings and special events mostly. I'm getting pretty good at using the manual setting on my camera to control aperture and shutter speed. As long as I'm out doors my shots looks pretty good. I'm REALLY struggling with poor lighting inside. I can get good shots but it's very inconsistant. I do not have an umbella flash yet but in some situations I can't use one anyway. (Like during the ceremony) What would be the absolute most important thing I should buy next and/or never be without. I am also reading a book on making the best of avilable light sources.Any suggestions on reading material. I get all the trade magazines and read and learn stuff every day from this site but it gets a bit overwhelming.

If low-light is the issue, I'd actually recommend a body upgrade at this point, but wait for the D90 replacement to come out.

I'm not sure a D90 or other crop sensor upgrade will be a great benefit..
Yes, you can get a couple more steps of ISO available, but it will be noisier at the same ISO the images will be "comparable"...maybe 1 step improvement over the D50.

A faster f/1.8 will be closer to a 2 step improvement (or better) in performance AND allow you to work with the better lower ISO's. Even a f/2.8 will be 2 steps better than your existing lenses when they are zoomed out.

what sk66 said...faster lens and probably more flash - sb900 if you are doing much bounce lighting...

While it can be a BIG hit to the wallet...consider your future plans...
When it does come time to upgrade camera going FF will be a big improvement (assuming current trends) over any crop sensor in ISO performance...(ok FF with the same MP rating as comparison crop sensor)

if you`re doing weddings and events - I think a backup camera should be on your list. Even if it`s another d50.

Actually I have a backup which is used by my second photographer. (My husband) It's a Canon 20D with a 28-70 lens (I think) and yes, if I'm shooting alone I have both cameras with me. I just didn't list it 'cause it technically isn't mine.
