Default Cokin P series filter holders

Hello,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm buying a 67mm filter holder and adapter ring, Cokin P series style. The name-brand Cokin's are around $20-30. There are a lot of no-name alternatives for significantly cheaper. Some as low as $3-4 on eBay.

Has anyone had experience with any of the cheaper alternatives? Are they worth the few dollars you save?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Man, I thought the Cokins were at the low end of the price range! I just bought a Lee ND grad and was surprised to see their filter holder is about $75. The difference is that the Lee holder is metal and you can adjust it so it has 1-3 filter slots.

I used to use a Cokin holder on my old 35mm SLR and it worked fine. I have not tried any of the cheaper ones, as I didn't know they existed. I'm curious to see what replies you get because I may be in the market for a Z-sized holder (I think that's what will fit my 4" x 6" Lee filter).

I'm going to have to check those Lee ND's out. Thanks for educating me. I will probably go with the Cokin line if they are a mid-range. I don't really care for multiple filters right now, I just want something to hold the home-made ones I'm crafting!
