Default What's a good collapsible reflector size for headshots to full body portraits

Hello everyone

I would like to know if anyone could offer their knowledge in answering my questions. What is a perfect reflector size that can handle model and portrait photography from headshots to full body portraits? Thanks a lot everyone. Looking forward to hearing from you guys!

And has anyone found a lot of use for their gold reflectors? And can anyone offer some advice on the use of black reflectors? Thanks

For even lighting you will want a reflector the same size or bigger than your subject. For full length a 5'x7' reflector would be a good choice.
I don't use gold very often as it adds too much color and unless at sunset doesn't match the color of the direct light. I'll still use it once in a while to add some real subtle shadow fill.
A black reflector would be a light absorber and would help keep some reflected light from getting back on your subject (or reaching back to your camera).

no i have not seen a 5in one that big. Two choices...a light panel with interchangeble cloth or a portable background in a reflective color such as white.
The portable backgrounds fold up like a 5 in one

The portable backgrounds come in one color each correct? So therefore i would have to purchase multiple backgrounds to get the same function of a 5in1, correct? (or get the light panel with different cloths as you mentioned) are there reflective cloths to go with the panel or are they regular background cloths? Thanks again

Yes generally portable backgrounds come in one color, some are two sideds so maybe blue on one side and brown on the other.
Heres a link to some:

Yes different cloth materials are available for the lightpanels. Light panels are a good DIY project as well.
A link to some of them:

Where can I find instructions on how to make DIY litepanels?

And as far as collapsible reflectors go, what's a good size for one of those?

Google is your buddy!

The 5-in ones and such...40" or bigger.
