Default Question about Sb600/Sb900/D90/Cybersync

Before I get blasted on here...I did read every post regarding this question.
Here is my dilema. I have a D90 with a Cybersync trigger. An Sb900 with a receiver mounted to receive the signal to trip the sb900. Problem is my sb600 wont trip.
From the begining I am in hopes someone with more knowledge than I will answer this. I need to make sure my setting are correct on all items mentioned.
D90 settings
Sb900 setting
Sb600 settings and that should do it.

With my 4 Alienbee light my cybersync triggers all without a hitch. It when I try and take my speedlights on the road is where I fall into the pit.
Please Help.

Do you have a Cybersync receiver on the SB-800, or are you trying to use CLS to trip the SB-800? It's usually a bad idea to try and mix non-TTL and TTL triggering systems (well, y'know, unless you're using Radiopopper PXs). On the Canon side, with the 580EXII, the sync port and master (that would be Commander to your Nikonians) mode cannot be used simultaneously. My guess is it's the same with Nikon and CLS.

Default Trying to use Commander

I have the receiver on the sb900....I can get all the speedlights (sb900 and sb600) to pop using the built in flash. However I dont want to use it. I love creative lighting and the built in flash will just get in the way. I could muzzle it but I have a radio trigger that hooks up to the sb900 so I wanted to use it.
Looking for help....

It won't work that way. The SB-900/-800 can only be used as a commander for other CLS lights when it's on the hotshoe.

Just set the pop-up flash to -- and it won't emit enough light to contribute to most scenes (unless you're really really close to the subject). If that's your common working method, then get that infrared plastic cover thingie (SG-3IR).

Otherwise, get another cybersync receiver, an i-TTL-capable sync cord, or put the SB-800 into SU-4 slave mode and hope nobody else walks by with a flash .

When the pop-up flash is set to "--" in the menu (on the body), it doesnt contribute to exposure. As inkista said, I keep the SG3-IR in my lightstand bag just in case I need it to be super critical.

Default I will try....

So the D90 commander mode on the built in flash to -- and then the sb900 set to ON....and the sb600 set to on. And it will work? I will try it!!!! 5 minutes later and here is the test....
That worked. However I think the on camera flash throws enough light to alter the effect. Question. Could I purchase a 15 dollar hot shoe adapter for the sb600 and hook up the trigger to the hotshoe to pop the 600 at the 900 on su-4 mode? A simple work around maybe?

You don't need a hotshoe adapter.

Put the SB-900 in SU-4 mode (and Manual), set up the SB-600 (in Manual) with the cybersync receiver, and put the transmitter on the hotshoe. The flash burst from the Sb-600 should trigger the SB-900. You won't have iTTL, or remote commanding, though. And any P&S flash can set off the SB-900, so you don't want to be doing this anywhere a bunch of other folks are taking flash pictures.

You're seeing things, or doing it wrong.
