Default Lens Lust

You see it there, that gorgeous lens that you didn't even realize you wanted or needed. It calls to you, whispering "Buy me! Buy me!" You try it out and the crisp photos with amazing depth tempt you even further....

You know know this lens is WAY out of your price range, but it doesn't stop you from wishing you could just take it home with you....

How do you deal with "Lens Lust"?

(Posted after playing around in the store with a magical Pentax FA Limited 77 f/1.8. *drools* Wish I could afford 100,000 yen [about $1000] for a lens!)

Pretty easy. I think about all of the other things I have to do with my money, and I only buy the lenses that I know I absolutely cannot be without. Right now, that's only one, the Canon 10-22. I also want the 17-55 EF-S 2.8IS and the lovely and talented 70-200 2.8 ISII but they'll have to wait.

You huddle in a corner stroking your camera and whispering "The Precioussss"

I buy it!

(but there is a difference between "my price range" and what I can afford)

Take a cold shower? (Well, that's supposed to work with other kinds of lust ...)

You go over to PentaxForums.com - The Largest Pentax-Dedicated Photography Forum Community- Home and drool over the pics other people have taken with that lens. You go to the Buy/Sell forum there and see if you can find one used.

HTH,
Heather

HTH,

Definitely googled, found those forums, drooled and pined as soon as I got home this evening ^_~

I think I'll just pine away in my corner over here for a while....
