Canon’s 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 vs Sigma 10-22mm

Hi,
I have a quick question, and I'll get straight to the point. I am looking into buying the Canon10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 ($700), however I am curious to know, if there is a major difference between this one and the Sigma 10-22mm one? As the sigma one is slightly cheaper then the Canon one. Also, would you personally recommend the canon over the sigma one? On a side note, I have used the Canon lens in the past, and was more then satisfied with the result, however I have never used the sigma one before.
