I've never used a battery grip, but I recently started looking at them. I was wondering whether I should go full on OEM or is a generic going to work ok. The generic is half the price of the OEM.
OEM: Amazon.com: Olympus HLD-5 Battery grip for Olympus E620 Digital SLR Camera: Electronics Generic (Rokinon???): Amazon.com: Vertical Battery Grip with Remote + (2) BLS-1 Batteries + Accessory Kit for Olympus If anyone has any experience on this issue that may be helpful I would be very thankful. If I should go with the more expensive of the two, please let me know why. Thanks, DM|ZE

I have used the aftermarket varieties and I know others who do as well. They seem a little cheaper in construction, but work fine.

I would always go OEM.

Wow, one for each any tie breakers out there. I read somewhere that with the rokinon you have a cable that hooks into the "usb" port on the camera? Can anyone confirm or deny this, also is this the case on the oem? I can't seem to find the manual anywhere?

That's something ive never heard of: most plug directly into the camera through the battery area.
