Default Nikon or Tokina 35mm for Nikon D5000

I want to buy a lens that would be great for all around photography, I currently have the Nikon D5000.
I just have the Kit Lens (18-55mm f/3.5 - f/5.6 DX Nikkor) and the Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED AF-S DX Zoom.

I have been eyeing on getting either the:

Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX Wide Angle Auto Focus Nikkor Lens $199.95
or
Tokina AT-X 35mm f/2.8 PRO DX Macro Lens for Nikon $319.00

What would you guys recommend? Or any other alternative lens. My max I can pay is $400.
A macro lens would be a plus because I love to take flower photography.
If you guys have any experience using either of these lenses can you share your experience?

Here's a side by side comparison of the two lenses:

Thanks for all the help/suggestions guys!

For starters, the Tokina A) won't autofocus on the D5000, B) is over a stop slower and C) is bigger and heavier. It's also incredibly difficult to do Macro at 60mm, let alone 35.

I'd opt for the Nikon, and a SB-600.

Ah, OS don't you mean a stop *slower*?

BTW, I'd go for the Nikon, too.

Between those 2 lenses - nikon 35mm no doubt.
You could also consider another option - get rid of your 18-55, and get a tamron 17-50 2.8(non-VC).
That's what i did, and i love it! Got a faulty copy at first(had some AF issues with anything but a central AF point), but got it exchanged by a dealer today, and new one is flawless.
This tammy holds it's ground very well against nikkor 17-55, which is about 4 times more expensive by the way. It's sharp, light, and relatively cheap. Only drawback is slow, and a bit noisy AF motor.

You might also want to consider the Sigma 30mm F/1.4 HSM, I love mine and it works great on the D5000.

Yes, reading it now I kinda went o_O for a second.

The Nikon winds hands-down.

(I've edited my original post to be more accurate)

Thanks you guys!
As just a beginner, I'll probably just get the Nikon 35mm
and I might get that tammy in the near future as I get better. hehe
