Hello amigos,
I would like to make some pictures (timelapse) inside a subway wagon and I need to know if there's some accessories to stand the camera in one of those vertical bars. ![]() Any ideas? Thanks. |

And, obviously, a stud to connect the superclamp to however you're going to mount the camera--probably a tripod ballhead.
If you're using a really light camera/lens combo or a P&S, you could possibly do this with a gorillapod, but a superclamp would definitely be a lot more stable.

+1 on the Superclamp, I use them all the time for lighting.
Evidently, according to the photo below, you can mount a tripod head on them, but I've never tried......

You mount it via the stud. The threads on one end or the other of the stud should match up with the tripod mount hole on the camera and/or tripod head. Studs aren't just there to give your umbrella swivel something to grab onto.

To be honest, I didn't really understand how to use this superclamp :S
I have to attach the clamp to the bar and above it I put the camera using a tripod head? Is there a simpler solution? And not too expensive...maybe a DIY? |

A home-made version of this would involve using Home Depot clamps, and nuts'n'bolts, but I doubt it'd be quite as stable as a superclamp, and given how much I paid for my camera/lens, I'm pretty sure I don't want to be saving $5 on a clamp that'll drop 'em on the floor. Most of the DIY Superclamp subs you can google up around the interwebz are for holding a flash--a dSLR with lens mounted tends to be substantially heavier.
