Hi All,
I've been running into situations where there is not ceiling (outdoors) or it's just too high.. I need to have a portable device which can produce quality light... Reflector was an option but not always I would have someone to hold it for me. So I found out the Bounce Cards might do the trick... A Better Bounce Card, Honl, Lumiquest and others are into this field. 1- Is using the bounce card would give the best results for such situations? 2- Any recommendations on the material/ brand of the manufacturer that I can look for? Thanks in advance.

It's a bloody bounce card: your SB-900 has one built in.

The Demb system is great in my opinion.

I got some advise from a pro photographer that this built-in card is of no use and it's too small to bounce real quality light.

That pro photographer is talking out his ass. The bounce card that is built into the SB-800s and 900s is more than enough. A lot of people just use a business card (which is smaller) or a post-it (again, smaller) attached with an elastic.

Then why would companies come up with different types and sizes of bounce cards?
Does it have to do with the quality or something?

For making money off suckers? I really dont know. I prefer not to use bounce cards if I can (i prefer a proper diffuser).

I use the diffusion dome that came with the SB-800 (the 900 has one as well). Works very well.
