Hi everyone,
I'm currently shopping for a budget wide-angle lens. If I had the $ (or in my case the €) I would buy a Canon EF 17-40L. However, at the moment this is a bit to expensive (around the 600 euro's or $760 new). So, I came across a second-hand Cosina 19-35 f3.5-4.5 lens. This guy is asking for 100 euro's ($126). Does anyone have experience with this Cosina lens. I know they are a third-party manufacturer. The reviews i've read are ambivalent (the same with certain Tamron and Sigma lenses). I don't want to buy a 'cat in the bag', though my dog would love one ![]() Greetings, Ripley

These lenses are quite common and you can often get a used copy. But usually you pay about 50 Euros. The lens itself is quite okay but the build is not very good. This is why they are sometimes called "plastic fantastic". You can find more information here (on Sony/Minolta but should be the same like Canon-version):
Vivitar*AF 19-35 F3.5 -4.5 Series 1* lens for Sony Alpha - Minolta camera mount This lens is sold under different brands, e.g. Cosina, Soligor, Vivitar, Voigtländer, etc.
