Dry Carbon Pen for cleaning lenses?

I bought a dry carbon pen to clean my lenses, but i have not used it yet. Does anyone have any experience using one of these? Did i waste my money on it?

Here's the description from it

It has a unique self-replenishing tip for minimal mess and has a very long life of up to 500 uses. The device has a cleaning tip on one end and a brush on the other, so use and cleanup is quick and easy."

Instructions:
1. Remove any particles on the lens surface with the brush
2. Wipe the lens in a smooth circular motion (the tip is a soft felt with the carbon on it) If some smudges persist, breathe gently on the surface and then repeat the process.

Let's put it this way: LensPens are safe for cleaning sensors. No, you did not waste your money.

Thanks everyone...I'd rather seem dumb asking, than ruin my lens with a stupid mistake. lol...better to err on the side of caution i suppose.
