I am considering Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM Lens or Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM Lens.
I have heard tons of pros and cons with both. But which should I get? If I go with non IS, I was planning on getting the Speedlite 430EX II and a 50mm prime. But if I can afford the IS, is the general rule to get that hands down due to lens and its features? |

What shutter speeds do you plan to shoot at? If you're going to be at 1/200s or faster all the time (i.e., shooting fast action), then you probably don't need IS that much. If you're going to be doing available light stuff and taking portraits at 1/60s, then IS would be a good thing.
OTOH, you could always use a monopod or tripod instead of IS to steady the lens. The thing is that all IS lets you do is use slower shutter speeds for handholding.
