If anybody is interested in exactly how often they use each of their individual lenses, or what f/stop they use most often, or what focal length they use most often. This little freeware program will analyze all your photo's that have EXIF data attached & tell you exactly what type of photos you've been taking. Apparently, I've been using my 18-200mm VR lens a lot!!

My lense of choice is my Canon 24-70 f2.8, the pictures are crisp & clear plus it's great in low light situations. My close runner up is my Canon 17-85, I know there's been a lot of adverse comments about this lens on other forums, but I must be one of the lucky ones who got a good copy.

Interesting program. If you have Lightroom it provides the same data, but great for those that don't have lightroom - thanks.

That's tough. I carry two bodies with me. The D300 usually has the 50mm f/1.8 or the 85mm f/1.8. The fast lens plus the D300's high ISO performance makes it fantastically versitle.
On my D40 I keep the 24-120mm VR mounted when it's in my bag for quick shots. That's my walking around lens. When I'm actually shooting with the D40, as in out for the day shooting, I am almost always using the 70-300mm VR lens. I'm a sound engineer so I'm almost always stuck behind the mixing board at the back of an auditorium. The range is helpful to getting decent shots. Ironically I typically lend out the D300 to friends that are at the show while I stay behind the board with the D40. Seems I have it backwards... Topslakr

Since I just ordered my 50mm lens last night, I can't possibly tell you that one. The lens I have mounted the most is my 17-85 mm IS lens that came with my Canon 30D.
For Christmas, I got a 70-300 lens and have been using that one more frequently, lately, but that's just because its new. For every day stuff, the 17-85 is my workhorse. |
