Default Looking for a camera bag

I need a camera bag to tote around my camera. I work in Manhattan so I take the train everyday. When I want to bring my camera I have to carry way too many bags so now I want an all purpose bag, that I can use as a pocketbook, but that I can also put my camera in to bring it with me. Any suggestions?

I fell in love with this one:

*emera | the quilted bag

but I hate to buy a bag without seeing it in person. Does anybody have any recommendations, or do you own this particular bag? I've found some nice ones on etsy as well, but I am just not sure which to get.

TIA!

I like Kata bags, but of course I don't use mine as a pocketbook...

I think the shootsac is more for lenses than an actual camera bag. Those Epiphanie bags are great!!! I am def going to look into those. I also found a pattern online to make one so I was thinking of maybe going that route, just have to learn to use the sewing machine

I think the Kata bags are too camera bag-ish for me. This is so hard!! I seriously can not find the bag, and I can see it in my head, I think that is the worst part, I know exactly what I want.

The Shootsac has some detractors: they say the strap is a pain, it breaks, and your lenses can fall out. It ain't for everyone, and it's mostly for changing lenses a lot--not so much for protection of same. I'm hoping I can get my hands on a ThinkTank Retrospective, as it looks like the lovechild of a Domke and a Shootsac.

@Gima9942: It sounds to me like you might be looking for a a Jill-E bag.
