Hello all,
I'm currently looking for a good tripod / head combination (sorry, I just didn't see the thread(s) you're probably about to point out to me). Time for a quick back-story. I live in a remote town in Australia. We have one, very small camera store that only sells three different types of tripod, all SLIK. The other day I asked an online store on what they would recommend I should get. I told them I was after something - study when fully extended (we get some strong winds sometimes and I'm 6"2') - reasonable priced (but don't mind pay a little extra for extra worth) - medium weight (I'm not really into hiking all that much... no hills) - easily adjustable. Okay, so maybe I'm being vague, but here's what their reply was anyway. They recommended a Manfrotto 055xprob tripod with a 322rc2 head. In the future (not really too sure when), I would like to purchase Canon's new 70-200mm IS II, and being as heavy as this is, I also need a setup which will smoothly and securely hold this lens in place, any angle I wish. Types of shots I do and plan to do: - flower macro - general landscape and night shots - portrait What would be your thoughts on this tripod and head? My current camera is a 50D. Something better you have in mind? Please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. |
