Default External flash dilema

Hi!

Im new to photography world so i guess ill need an advice here. I got Nikon D60 with two pretty much basic lenses (50mm and 18-55mm) what is kind of not important to what i want to know.

The thing is that i hate that direct flash of mine. I tried to difuse it with all kind of stuff like handkerchiefs or a business card and other white things but the result is far from desirable. So i finally changed my mind and i want to buy an extrenal flash and theres where i get to my next problem. You know im a student so i want to save as much money as possible.

I checked several e-shops and i found something interesting, but i need opinion of someone more experienced so i dont buy wrong gear.

so here it is

the SB-600 is a very nice flash, but if you're really on a shoe string budget, and want to do the Strobist thing, I think a set of Cactus V4s or RF-602s and an LP-120 (or even a cheap Yong Nuo YN-46x) might still be cheap enough that you could get a stand, swivel, and umbrella as well all for the price of the SB.
