Default D5000 and battery packs

Hello there.
i am looking into a d5000 and was searching for battery grips and such and was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on the grips for d5000 or a good place to get one.
Also ive heard of some grips that can boost the fps on cameras and was curious to if there was one for the d5000.
Thanks!

THe D5000 doesn't have a dedicated Nikon grip, and no grip will increase its FPS (that only applies to the D300/s/D700).

well i have noticed that there are 3rd party battery grips for the d5000. are the 3rd party accessories wise to use?
Or is there any other camera that people use for the same price range that they prefer over the d5000? im just trying to gather up as much info as i can before i commit to my next camera.

Just be aware that with the third party grips, the vertical shutter release only works via the infrared remote setting on the camera. It is not hard wired. The only real point in getting a grip for this camera, would be if your hands are to big for it. Otherwise, it just adds more weight.
