Besides, I smoke 4 packs a day... and take Red, Bull intraveanously. So I really can't hold much anything steady...

Tripods rock!

(I honestly love my tripod and often will use it because the only times I can really get out (i'm a family guy with a full time job) early morning or late evening.)
Don't get me wrong, I use them/believe in them. I have a Gitzo monopod, a very expensive/massive Gitzo CF Tripod with massive Gimbal head, and a smaller but still kinda expensive Benro CF Tripod with Acratech head. I'll often carry one "just in case" and the Gitzo weighs about 10#. I often don't have the time to set one up.

Some people scoff at the Benro CF tripods, but I've had mine for 2 yrs and I'm very happy with it. I think it was around $250 without head (the acratech head is around another $250). Just don't get one that is marginally weight rated for your gear. My Benro will hold my 17# combo, but it won't do it steadily.

Hello,

I am looking into getting this tripod:

Giotto's MTL9351 B Tripod + MH5011 Three Way Head Kit.: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

Does anyone have any feedback on this tripod + head combo?

This will be my first tripod.

Im 5 feet 11" (180.34cm)

and I have a Canon eos 500d with 18-55mm kit lens but will eventually be getting a bigger zoom (200-250mm)

Does this tripod seem like a good fit for me?

Thanks

Mike
