Default Need some help quick! About flash syncing late!

Hey guys, I'm needing some quick help! I've got a photo shoot tonight, so I'm borrowing two speedlite 550ex's... and I figured I'd make sure all is working before the shoot.

Unfortunately, when I fire the master, the slave fires about a full second late. If I switch flashes (master --> slave) the same thing happens. What am I doing wrong?

It's like your camera on fully automatic or manual.
