Default Canon 18-135 or Sigma 18-125?

I've been wanting to get a walk-around lens that has better zooming capabilities than the kits lens (18-55) that came with my Canon T1i.. and I've been looking at these 2 lenses:

Canon EF-S 18-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS
Sigma 18-125 f/3.8-5.6 AF DC OS HSM

Reviews seem pretty good for either of these lenses... anyone out there have any advice/suggestions?

Thanks much...

Just me, but I'd go for the Canon: better reach, better future compatibility. Neither one is likely to be a stellar lens, though.

A friend suggested to also check out these lenses:

Tamron 28-75 f/2.8
Canon 15-85 f/3.5-5.6

Honestly, have not considered these lenses... any thoughts?

On a crop body like the T1i, 28mm is more like normal than it is wide angle.

The 15-85 is a very nice lens, but substantially more expensive than the lenses you're looking at.

One more contender: Tamron 17-50 f/2.8.

Inkista- I appreciate your input. Since I'm new to dslr lenses, I originally was under the impression that the Canon & Sigma lenses would have been a nice walk-around lens... but after researching the Tamron 28-75 and other lenses in that focal range, I've learned these are more suitable for that purpose.
