Default Sima 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM

Has anyone have any comments on this glass? Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSMI am looking for a fast lens and one to use as a "walk around" when I go out to capture daily happenings. I have a Nikon D90 and a couple of other Sigma products and am quite happy with them. Any other suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Al

My daughter has this lens as her "walk around" and likes it very much. I haven't tried it myself, so I can't comment om specifics, but I know she is happy with the range it offers.

You might want the Sigma 18-50 2.8 instead. Less range but 2.8 across the range. It is also an EX lens which means you'll get an additional 2 years of warranty from them.

I have this lens for my Canon and I've had it for about a year. I'm reasonably happy with it other than the fact that sometimes when pointing the camera towards the ground the lens will slide out changing the focal length! I hate when that happens. I'll be shopping for a replacement for it sonn but right now it's not on the top of my financial priority list.
