I'm wanting to try some lenses out before I purchase them. If you have done this before can you recommend a site to try that you have use. Thanks
Lyn

I've heard good things about LensRentals.com - Rent Canon, Nikon, Olympus, or Sony Lenses and Cameras , though I've never tried them myself.

I have also used lensrentals multiple times. For both lenses and bodies. It has always been a positive experience, including one time when I had to cancel a rental of over $500 of stuff at the last moment. There was no nastiness or fees.
I strongly suggest always buying insurance, though. To cover any accidents by yourself. |

Very wise decision Lyn,
I've not used online rental companies before... can't imagine how efficient that is, but my local Pro Shop has rental gear and they allow me to apply my rental rate toward purchase if I decide I want to buy it. I would look for a reputable camera shop near you, and inquire there.

It's almost just worth it to buy used and resell if you don't like it. I would only consider renting before buying if you are looking to drop some serious cash. Then again, i've never purchased an expensive lens nor rented one. I've had good luck on ebay and craigslist personally (buying nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AF lenses as low as $45).
