Default Tripod bag

I thought i'd start a new thread on an appropriate tripod bag for a popular combo like the Manfrotto 190XB/498RC2. I'd love to hear your comments or experiences on the following selection. My criteria was padded, able to fit length 66cm (~26"), and preferably shoulder strap. Price, links, pics taken from B&Hphoto.

Manfrotto MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag $ 86.95

Gitzo GC-1100 Padded Tripod Bag $ 69.99

Giottos Padded Tripod Case with Strap - for Tripods up to 6.5 x 31" $ 44.99

Hakuba PSTC 200 Large Pro Series Tripod Case - for Tripod up to 33" Long (Black) $ 37.89

Doesn't it come with a bag?

My only experience with purchasing a tripod bag is getting a small-sized Hakuba to carry my Strobist kit, ala Scott Kelby's blog. It's done quite well for me.

no... i purchased the 190x and 486rc2 as kit, which didn't come with a bag, and later replaced the head with a 498rc2

thnx for the insight on the hakuba bag/brand tho. it adds a little more confidence since i'm not familiar with the brand.

I use an Optech carry strap. I find a strap attached to the tripod itself much more useful than a bag with a strap.

my purpose in finding a bag is to protect the tripod and head during travel or in a compartment full of things that can clash and ruin it

which optech strap, though? how do u carry that and your camera? across both shoulders?

This one
I carry it on the opposite shoulder or "cross body" if the camera isn't attached.

I find a bag useful for storage, but that's about it...
I use a sports bag (hockey) to carry my tripods and light stands/umbrellas together.

The Manfrotto bag is nice and comfortable. I'm using a Manfrotto 55XproB and 498RC2 ballhead. It just fits in the "80" case, but the 55 is longer than the 190.

I prefer the Manfrotto 102 Heavy Duty Tripod Carrying Strap to the bag. For me, the tripod is more accessible.
