Default Do "step ___" rings that are the same size on both ends exist?

Simple metal rings, like step-up or step-down rings, except the same size on both ends of the ring; do they exist?

"Why the hell would you want a ring that's the same size on both ends?" you ask?

Simple -- for otherwise-decent circular polarizers that just happen to be a bitch to put on and take off, due to having thin, groove-less edges. Rather than wrestle with my CP every time I wanna use it, I'll just keep it on the "step even" ring, which will most likely go on/come off with ease.

I realize that I can just get a bigger CP and use a step-up ring (which would add the benefit of reducing vignetting on my ultrawide), but good 77mm CPs are already $150-200. 82mm CPs start hitting the $250 range.

So -- is there such a thing as a filter ring that doesn't change size?

Will it thread on the other end, though?

Any filter can stack on top of another (male to female). In this case, you just stack your CP onto a filter ring. Beware of vignetting!
