choice of lenses

Can anybody help me?.

I am fairly new to the digital camera & would greatly value any advice.
At present i have a NIKON D60, i am looking for a 500mm zoom, with a budget of a £1000.00, the reviews have narrowed it down to either the SIGMA 150-500 (5.6-6) APO DG OS HSM or the TAMRON AF 200-500mm (5-6.3)Di LD (IF).

Can any of you guys throw some light on these, may be you have one or have knowledge of them, i would really appreciate it.

Bit of a toss-up spec wise, but the Sigma having OS does make a significant difference.

also your camera may not autofocus with the Tamron.
