Default Battery grip

hello,i have a d3000 and was looking on ebay for a battery grip for it, although nikon dont make a grip for the d3000 i was wondering about the 3rd party grips, i see a lot for the d40 and d60 i was wondering if any of these grips would fit the d3000 as some are advertised for the d40 d40x d90 and d5000, thanks for looking, any advice will be appreciated.

If it works on a D60, it should theoretically work on a D3000.

That being said, most of the 3rd party grips for the D40/40x/60/3000/5000 bodies are TERRIBLE.

The fit might not be perfect, but the bigger issue is functionality. These grips use the IR trigger (like the wireless remotes) and arent perfect. Outdoors they have trouble, if your hand is over the sensor (often) they'll have trouble.

Save your money.

I have one for my D5000 that I got off Amazon that plugs in to the PC outlet. It works well for me. Nikon doesn't make one for it, so I had to go after market. It has a real good feel to it as well.

Smile Use only what you need.

I recently got the Targus Grip for the D40-D60-D5000 cameras....and it's used for comfort to make the camera more useable for me. I don't use the remote control for the camera unless shooting from a tripod, and then use the ML-L3 remote for it I don't understand why the different grips are bashed just because they don't provide something that Nikon didn't provide anyway. It allows a bit more "bulk" for my large hands to hold the camera comfortaby, and added battery usage as a plus. It fits tightly and doesn't detract from the apperance of the camera. Just my .02.
