Default Wide angle converter?? Does it work?

Here's a link to an e-bay auction I'm looking at: 52MM-WIDEANGLE-TELEPHOTO-LENS-FOR-NIKON-D40-D3000-

I love landscapes & am wondering if this actually works & will allow me to fit more in my shot? My widest lens is the 18-55mm kit lens & I cannot afford to buy a lens right now. I thought this looked interesting. I'm going to the beach this summer & also take frequent hikes where I can sometimes get some nice landscapes & am wondering if this would be useful. If I'm understanding correctly, this will work on my kit lens, but I would need an adapter for my 55-200 or 70-300. right?

Thanks!
