I'm looking to replace one last kit lens and add a few others to the "bag". My camera is a Sony @330.
As a starting point, I've replaced the kit 18-55mm with a Tamron 17-50mm and I'm very pleased with it. Budget is a concern - anything over $750 USD (per lens, depending on what it will do) makes me keep looking. I've looked at Sony lenses, too expensive. Also looked at Tamron lenses, I like all of what I see but don't want to rule out others I may not be aware of. Also looked at Sigmas, only a few are in my price range. What are your experiences and recommendations on: A wide angle lens, something in the 10-12 to at least 17mm range. I've looked at the Tamrons in this range, like what I see, but don't want to overlook other possibilities. A macro or a prime lens: I've read a lot of material recommending prime over macro. Based on the way I've been shooting, I should probably go with a 35mm (APS-C sensor) in either. Thoughts on each type and recommended lenses? A telephoto lens from around 50mm out to at least 200mm, preferably 250mm: Not sure about the Tamrons here, experienced replies welcome as well as leads on other manufacturers. Thanks!

If you want wide, the Sigma 10-20 f/4.5-5.6 is one of the best, as is the Tokina 11-16 f/2.8. The Tokina's range is a bit limiting, but it's very good.

The Tokina 11-16 looks great. I googled it and the photos with that lens are incredible. It is limited, but may be worth it in that focal range. Thanks for the reply!
