Hopefully this is in the right forum.
I am looking at getting going with my photography hobby in a more serious way and would like to begin sharing some shots. Can anyone recommend some gallery type software to help display the photos? I have experience with running a website and have my own domain names I can use. I would ideally have the gallery running as a sub-domain and would probably limit access (for various reasons) I am aware of Flikr and Picasa and have also looked at Coppermine and JAlbum for running on my own servers but can anyone recommend any more to try before I make a decision? Many thanks |

You could look at snapixel, there is a free "pro upgrade" for DPS members. Allows you to also offer your images for sale. relevant post

You might want to consider Wordpress installed on your server and then use the NextGen Gallery plugin to manage your images. It is very versatile for albums, single pictures, auto thumbnails etc. Also with Wordpress running you can use all of the other features that has to enhance the feel and look of the site.
