Default 50mm lens question

Can I use a Canon FD 50mm Lens on a Canon DSLR?

Not without either an adaptor or having the mount redone.
Most of the time it isn't worth it. Instead, spend $100 and get the EF 50mm f/1.8.

From what i have read in a sum the FD lenses don't focus to infinity unless you use an adapter with lenses in it to make the proper corrections. You lose an f stop or two. The result is pretty bad apperently. Canon made an FD->EOS adapter, but I understand it is rare and expensive.

Just buy a 50mm f/1.8 II. Brand new it's only $100 US at B&H.com

That was the second lens i puchased other than my kit lens. im sure others will agree. Fast primes opened my eyes to a whole new world. Wish i could afford more and better primes

Cheers
