Default Tablet Question..

I am thinking of picking up a tablet to use with CS4, I really stink at using the mouse for anything other then square selections and thought hey a tablet would be great.

Has any one used the Wacom - Bamboo Pen and Touch Tablet , BB has it for 99.99, but figured I'd ask for feedback before grabbing it. Dont really want to spend much more then that yet on one..

I have the cheapest Bamboo model, and I really like it. It's better than a much more expensive tablet I had ten years ago. It's a little small, but I find that fine for photography touch-up and the occasional use I put it to.

Works great in Linux, too.

The touch functions aren't up to par (it's not quite like a Mac Touchpad in that aspect). If you get the pen too far away it switches to touch mode so you can inadvertently do weird things like switch application.

The word is the Intuous 4 is a better buy.
I use an Aiptek Slim Tablet and I'm happy enough with it, but I usually use a kensington expert mouse pro trackball instead of a tablet.

I'm also using the smallest bamboo and it's great. Honestly, haven't been using it much lately though. Mouse is sufficient 95% of the time .

For 4× the price, I'm not so sure.

Good tip about the touch model — I have the previous version, which can still be found cheaply.

Look into the Aiptek Slim Tablet...
It's a 12" 16:9 tablet with good sensitivity for about $100.
The only thing that bothers me about the thing is the pen seems cheesy compared to Wacoms better tablets (no idea about the one with the Bamboo), and the pen uses a battery... (but it also has two buttons which are programable w/ the windows version)
