Default Remote speedlight - so cool!

I am soooo slow sometimes. LOL! I have had my speedlight (SB-600) for almost a year and my D200 for 9 months and last night I finally figured out how to use them remotely in Commander Mode.

This totally rocks! I love it! Now, it's time for me push myself out of my comfort zone and use this baby to its potential.

Btw, I have a quick question... Once I have the speedlight and camera setup properly in commander mode, how do I change the focus zoom to control the spread of the light??

Thanks gang!

I have the same speedlight. It a great light. I know you are happy that you figured out how to use it wirelessly. When you use it wirelessly the zoom is manual. So, just press the zoom button and it will change. If you want to get as wide as 14mm the pull out the built in ummm... thingy. I forgot what it's called...lol but pull it out and it goes to 14mm.
Enjoy!

Thanks, Algernonep! That did it!

I couldn't figure it out before because I had the wide-flash adapter (your "built in thingy" that you couldn't remember ) pulled out. I didn't realize when that is pulled out, it only stays at 14mm.

Woo-hoo! I also found a great DIY tutorial on making your own "beauty dish". I'm going to make it today and start doing a photo shoot with my son. LOL! If anyone's interested, here's the links I found for it:
