Default printers

hi, I am considering buying a wide format (13") printer. I have looked at reviews for epson stylus printers and the canon pro9000 and pro9000markII. From what I read the canon seem to be more economical on the ink than the epsons, anyone has recommendations or comments. currently I have an epson stylus r340 (8.5"} it worked fine for sometime but now it is leaving splodges of black ink on prints whenever the paper is a little heavy though it is feeding the paper ok. anyone had a similar problem is it an epson issue. any feedback will be appreciated.
thanks
nadia

I have both the 9000 and i9900. But from what I heard both the printers you mentioned are good. Here's a review. Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II Professional Inkjet Printer
