what is the difference in these lenses

What is the difference between Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM and
Canon EF 70-300 f/4.5-5.6 IS USM other than the price. I don't know what the "DO" means.
The info may already be here someplace, if so I am sorry to be repeating the question.

And at a fraction of the image quality. The DO version is demonstrably weaker in sharpness and contrast.
