Close-Up Filters

Does anyone know where off brand close-up filters are sold in Canada? When I visited Henry's the price for a set for my Canon 24-105 lens was +/- $170 and on up. When a simple filter costs this much, I have to stop and think about what percentage of the cost of a new maco lens that represents, which I am not prepared to invest in for the time being and I end up buying nothing. I would like something inexpensive to try out.

The sets below sound ideal and I found many similar bargains online, but the shipping is more than double the cost of the purchase. I realize that you get what you pay for, but how much can the multi-coating on the more expensive filters be worth, when 77mm-three-lens kits sell from U$13 to U$39? Has anyone purchased this type of filter online?
