Default Fantasy time... you can get that lens

If a total stranger walked up to you and said lets go to the store right now and I will buy you that lens you have been wanting. What lens would you buy?

I'll start. I think it would have to be the Canon 85 1.2L. Ultra sharp, super fast and dreamy bokeh. Of course this would mean I would have to go full frame soon to take full advantage.

I just checked out this lens. Uhm if the stranger had unlimited funds I would have to change my vote to this lens. Under 2K I think the 85 1.2L.

EF 800mm f/5.6L IS USM.

Because I could sell that bad boy for >$10k and get all the other lenses I'd love to own, including an old EF 50mm f/1.0L USM if one was on the market.

Ok. Ok. $1k-2k range? A Bell & Powell Angenieux C-mount 25mm f/0.95. So I could put it on a µ4/3 camera and have a poor-man's M/Noctilux combo.

OK, I didn't catch the part about limited funds, but - I can understand.... Not everyone can purchase a lens like that one....

If funds are the problem, I can keep it under 2K with a 70-200 f/2.8 L IS USM with a couple hundred to spare for filters ....

Definitely the Nikon 400 f/2.8

Thats been my dream lens. I could score so much better images of the eagles with that instead of my 300 f/4 and TC.

Plus I could probably make a good deal of money shooting the local football games that I always turn down, due to not having enough light for the 300mm, and not having enough reach with my 80-200 f/2.8

If I ever lusted after any type of gear it would have to be the sacred 400 2.8

Thought a few times about renting one, but I know I couldn't ever deal with giving it back.
