Nikon Lens Issue

I just purchased a Nikkor 50mm f1.4 lens about a Month ago to use with my D90. It's been working wonderfully until this past weekend when I began having issues with the focus ring. It seems to be stuck. It's hard to turn when I manually focus and it's so tight that the autofocus won't even work... I am at a complete loss as to what is wrong with it - any ideas?

Sounds like its been banged around a bit. Can you use another camera to post an image of the front of the barrel, as seen from the top/side?

Oddly, it looks fine. That being said, my 50mm f/1.8D was dropped slightly and exhibited similar results.

Were you able to loosen it at all or is it something you just have to deal with?
