Those of you that have a 30mm lens (on a crop body) what type of shots do you use it for. I am trying to decide if I should buy a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 HSM that a friend of mine will let me have for a good price.
Along those lines does anyone have any experience with this lens?

Most people get a 30 or 35mm lens because they are extremely close to an effective 50mm on the 1.6x crop sensors. 50mm is a "normal" focal length and has been used for a variety of styles for decades -- it's generally thought to replicate the field of view of the human eye very closely.
On full frame cameras, it's considered wide angle, and has some use for landscape photography, but I prefer a 28mm on my film camera. |

I have the sigma 30mm f1.4 on a canon 40D, and it is great.
I use it for everything and anything, i find it tack sharp and just love the f1.4, i use mine for flowers, people, landscapes, you name it ...
