Question Which flash is better?

I am looking to purchase a flash. Which is better. Canon speedlite 430ex II or the 580ex II?
What are the differences besides $100.00? I have a canon rebel xti. Thanks.

Canon - Search results for 580EX

Just do a comparison. (prices are in Australian $)

The 580EXII is the "better" flash - However it is heavier and more expensive.
I own two 580's

Short version: yes, it's freaking worth the extra $100 if you can afford it, and especially if you plan to use it on-camera.

Comparison: Canon Speedlite 430EX II vs. Canon Speedlite 580EX II

Exclamation Flash

I looked on the canon website but it does not mention being compatable with the rebel t1i (500D) it lists everything else. Maby they forgot to update this since the rebel t1i/500D is a newer model. I just want to be sure before I spend all that money on the 580ex II and find out it doesnt work.

The 580 is compatible with any EOS camera.

I was going to get the 430, but decided on the 580. I LOVE it and am so glad I spent the extra $$.
