Default Smallest lens size

Just wondering, what's the smallest lens size available? I want to get a lens smaller than an 18-55mm, is that possible? Obviously I'd like it for close ups.

It does exist. What do you want to photograph and what is your budget?

By small, do you mean wide angle? The Tokina 12-24mm is good for your camera, but be sure it's the latest model with the AF motor built in. The older model is crippled with no AF for your camera as it didn't have the AF motor built in.

Do you mean:

Smaller angle, meaning wide angle?
Smaller weight, meaning light?
Smaller size, meaning less bulky?

Also, none of the above is relevant to close-ups. For that, you want a macro lens, which is one that can focus very closely, and reproduce images at life-size.

Ah, that 12-24 is a whole lot of fun. It's heavier than I thought it would be though.
