I would like to buy an attachment to start taking some macro pictures. I am hoping to get some opinions on how a lense filter (ex: Canon 250D 58mm Close-up Lens) compares to a lense extender (ex: Opteka Auto Focus DG Macro Extension Tube Set). Any thoughts on good/bad brands of each would also be helpful.
TIA, Scott |

No brand recommendations, But I would say macro lens is best or equal to extension tubes (each has an advantage/tradeoff) but tubes are cheaper. The magnifying filters are not worth the money.
One of the cheapest ways is to just get an adapter ring (step up ring) to allow you to mount two of your lenses front to front.
