Just wanted some input on computer equipment. I will be going to school for photojournalism in the fall. The laptop I have now is a couple year old HP. I'm looking to get something new sometime before classes begin. I don't have a ton of cash and obviously won't need anything ultra-professional just yet. I definitely want to go with a mac. I just wasn't sure which way to go. At first, I was thinking of getting an Imac. Then I thought it might be better to get a Macbook pro and simply buy a large monitor. That way I have the advantage of the portability of the laptop but will have the editing benefits of a large HD screen. Any comments? Good deals? Thanks a lot

I have a 13" MacBook Pro, I upgraded ram from 2GB (default) to 4GB
I bought a Samsung 23" monitor later on when I needed it. Cant go wrong with it. Just consider the following, if you are using GIMP, it is a bit odd on MAC Cheers and Good Luck Dharmit
